35 Graduate East Texas Police Academy

    Today in Kilgore, 35 cadets graduated in the 252nd Basic Peace Officers Academy at the Woodruff Center. They have completed the 16 week course, and now the new officers will take positions at various law enforcement agencies around East Texas and as far south as Huntsville. Among this class, more women and more bi-lingual recruits.

     "I was working nights and going to school in the daytime then go home go to sleep get back up go to work and come back up here in the morning" said Panola recruit Richard Mojica.

   "It was great it was a great experience we had great instructors the class was really top notch and I wouldn't change it for anything" said graduate Christina McGee.

  Gregg County will receive 13 of the recruits, while 7 will go to Smith County.
