Brook Hill's Softball Team Joins Baseball Team At State

The Brook Hill Guard have a double threat heading to state today. In just their second year of existence, their softball team went undefeated in district play and beat Waco Texas Christian 14-1 Tuesday to punch their ticket to the state semifinals.  They join the Guard's baseball team who beat Galveston O'Connell 2-1 last Saturday.

"It takes hard work and dedication from the girls," said softball coach Amanda Reed, "and they've got to be very coachable and they have been, and they're hardworking girls and they deserve every bit."

"This is what we strive for when we start off season workouts in August," said baseball coach Sean Collins, whose team is making it's fourth trip to the state tournament.  "And this year is the most rewarding for us because of some of the adversity we had to deal with."

The softball team plays Watauga Harvest Thursday at 1pm at Waco ISD.  The baseball team plays Kingwood Northeast Thursday at 4pm at Waco ISD.
