Spiderman 3 Hits The Box Office

It's the day Spiderman fans have been waiting for. The summer movie season kicked off early Friday with the opening of the third installment of the Spiderman comic book.   Spiderman 3 is already breaking box office records overseas, and is expected to do the same in America.  Friday at Carmike Cinemas in Tyler, Spiderman 3 is showing 26 times.

"Compared to the first and second one, the third one is the best one," said Nathan Hillin, Spiderman fan. The parking lot was packed, as Spiderman fans young and old came out early to catch the action.

"My favorite part was when the Sandman apologized to Spiderman," Elisel Torres, 9.

"The part when he tossed the stuff into the pile of rings, and he rung the rings," said Seth Roberts, 7.  You don't have to go to the movies this weekend to find Spiderman.  At Target, he's everywhere.   He's on toys, bedding, bikes and even a Mr. Potato Head.  That might be going a little overboard, but movie goers say the nearly $260 million blockbuster was worth every penny.

"It was really good," said Reba Wagner, Spiderman 3 fan. "I wasn't sure how they were going to go with it, the plot and everything being the evil Spiderman, but it was really good."

"Yes, I recommend it," said Hillin. "I give it five stars, two thumbs up, or whatever you are supposed to say."  Spiderman 3 is rated PG 13.
