East Texas Man Convicted For Failing To Register As Sex Offender
Fredrick Gholston, 33 of Mount Pleasant is one of the first to be convicted under the 2006 Adam Walsh Act, for failing to register as a sex offender. Gholston was convicted of a sex crime in Ohio in 1998, and ordered to register as an offender for 20 years. When he moved to East Texas, where he lived for about two years, the U.S. Marshal's Office says he did not tell police of his new address. He now faces up to ten years in prison.
