Proud Of East Texas: Cherokee Trace Safari

You don't have to fly all the way to Africa to go on safari. This world of adventure is only a short drive away. Cherokee Trace Drive-thru Safari, with its 24 species of exotic animals, is located in the heart of East Texas, just 12 miles from Jacksonville.

The Ischy family bought the acreage four years ago and opened it a year later.  Animals at Cherokee Trace range from a to z, with Stella the Alligator and Marty the Zebra, and a bevy of animals from throughout the world, in between.

Cherokee Trace Drive Thru Safari is opened seven days a week. For more information call 903-683-3322 or go to their website at www.cherokeetrace.org.
