Tyler Attorney Makes Open Records Request On Commissioner's E-Mails

A Tyler attorney submits an open records request involving a Smith county commissioner.   Attorney Ken Good is asking for e-mails or other correspondence between Precinct One Commissioner JoAnn Fleming and several county departments.  He also wants e-mails or other correspondence between Commissioner Fleming to former Smith County Judge Becky Dempsey.

During a news conference this morning, Commissioner Fleming said she does not know what information Good is looking for specifically, but she would be happy to provide him with the e-mails.

"Am I saying here today, that there will not be any innuendo or anything out of it that will not be used against me either in a political way or a personal way?  I have no way of knowing that. But the potential there is great," said Fleming.

Commissioner Fleming says she received the request yesterday. She says she does not know exactly what day the e-mails will be released to Mr. Good, since she has to go through thousands of them. She has 10 days to do so.
