The opening of a new jail in Rusk County is expected to bring up to 175 jobs to the area and up to $15 million to the economy there. Today, county officials and corporate leaders were on hand for the dedication ceremony.
The facility will house male and female prisoners from all over the state. The firm "Management and Training Corporation" spent $16 million dollars to build the 127,000 square foot facility. The maximum capacity for the facility is 1,160 prisoners.
