Recent Storms Flood An East Texas Church

Heavy rains poured throughout East Texas early Wednesday morning, and they even made their way inside an East Texas Church, flooding almost every room.   Members of the Kingdom Family Church on East Front Street in Tyler, found two inches of water inside.   The church says it believes the rain water went under the church's front and side doors, seeping through. There was nowhere to stand, but in the water. Members are busy cleaning up, trying to get ready for Wednesday night's service.

"It's messed up of course the walls, all of the carpet is totally messed up," said Pastor Stephanie Shankle of Kingdom Family Church. "We have linoleum in some of the floors. That's messed up. Of course our furniture in the offices is damaged. We are just totally amazed. It has never flooded in the five years we have been in this building."

The church says it also lost some food in it's food pantry. Despite the mess, the church says it will hold its Wednesday night service.

If you'd like to help the small church recover, you can contribute to them at any Regions Bank under "Kingdom Family Church".
