East Texas College Students Join For Prayer, Rememberance Of Virginia Tech Victims

Hundreds of East Texans gathered to remember and reflect, struggling to make sense of this massacre.

"There is no real safe place in this world. But God and God alone can provide safety and refuge," these words were said during the service. Then Psalms 46 was read.

"Every college student in America feels like it could have been them," said Janine Greeley, Tyler Junior College sophomore.

"It did happen, It happened to us. This gives us a chance to pause and reflect," said Chris Shepperd, Tyler Junior College sophomore.

Across the nation people are lighting candles for thos in Virginia. So Wednesday night hundreds of East Texans were Virginia Tech hokies.

"It means a lot even though were 1500 miles away from them to know that were reaching out and letting them know we are thinking of them and they are in our prayers," said Nicole Kakfa, Tyler Junior College sophomore.
