Super-sized, super shopping, and super crowded at Wednesday's grand opening of a new Longview Walmart. The brand new Supercenter on Estes Parkway, in South Longview, opened its doors Wednesday. Eager shoppers made their way around the nearly 200,000 square foot store, even "Tony the Tiger" showed up to get some shopping done and greet customers. The new Walmart comes as an economic boom to the otherwise un-developed southside.
Allen Smith, the store manager, says, "it just really helps bring out other things in the community, like you've got SYSCO moving in, it's starting to build up here in South Longview so it's really going to be good and advantageous to this part of the community."
This is the city's third Walmart Supercenter.
