Weather Causes Flurry Of Longview Accidents

The weather caused a series of crashes last night in Gregg County.  At around 5:30 p.m. yesterday, three separate crashes happened within 10 seconds of each other.  The crashes happened on Highway 149 near the lake Cherokee bridge, south of Lakeport.

State troopers say the first happened when a box truck lost control and slid off the roadway crashing into a tree. Then an 18-wheeler tanker truck swerved and jack-knifed in the middle of the roadway. Immediately after that, a Longview school bus, with two children on board, lost control and slid off the road into a ditch.

The driver and two children were hospitalized with minor injuries. None of the other drivers were hurt.
