Severe Weather Misses Toyota Texas Bass Classic

One place of concern Friday night was Lake Fork, where thousands of people are staying this weekend for the Toyota Texas Bass Classic.  The fishing tournament which is located in Wood County near Quitman started yesterday, but was over Friday before the severe weather hit.

Still, thousands of people were staying in tents and R.V.s last night when the storm hit. Fortunately, it was just a thunderstorm that hit Lake Fork.  Those camping say they did take extra precaution.

"We are staying at a campsite in a tent, but we are up here at the restrooms for shelter just in case," said Josh Burns, who is staying in a tent.

"Just see what happens, and if it gets too bad we will leave, or take shelter some where," said Vincent McKay, who is staying in tent. "It's been alright. Everybody's happy and having fun."

It's game on at the Toyota Texas Bass Classic Saturday. Organizers say they did not receive any major damage from the storm and no concerts will be canceled.  Tomorrow from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mineola's Kacey Musgraves and Todd Fritsch will perform. Then at 5:30 p.m. Tracy Lawrence will take the stage.  The best part all concerts are free.
