Snow flurries blanketed numerous East Texas counties. From the time it began to fall, the snow had East Texans wondering if they were really seeing it or just dreaming it.
"This white stuff, yeah, I thought 'If this isn't a Holy Moses factor on Easter this year.' I have never seen anything like this in Longview in April," said Longview native Judy Moffitt.
In a time when we would normally be in short sleeves, many were caught off guard. "Not in April and I'm from Texas this is unusual," said Longview resident Joyce Hooper.
"When I saw it, I went and called everybody I knew that was still sleeping," said Longview business owner James Goodwin.
But the snow and frigid temperatures was a bonus to coffee shops. "I was thinking I ought to get extra customers today, if you want to know the truth," said Goodwin, who runs a coffee house on Marshall Ave.
There were no reports of any road hazards or accumulation due to the brief snows.
