Officials Investigate Third Drive-By Shooting In Tyler

Police say a string of drive by shootings in Tyler do not seem to be related.  The latest happened overnight, on the 400 block of East Bow St. This is the third drive-by shooting in the past week.

On Sunday, there was a drive-by shooting on Cityview Dr. and County Road 376 and another one in the 400 block of Victory St.  "In this situation, the two incidents that occurred recently, do not appear to be related in any way. There is a third or another drive-by shooting. That happened out in the county and we have not confirmed that is related either," said Tyler Police Department public information officer Doyle Lynch.

No injuries were reported in any of the shootings. Those responsible face charges of third degree felony.

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>
