Storms sweep across East Texas overnight.  Currently, no word from TXU on number of power outages. Overnight, there were nickel to pea size hail reports from the Lake Palestine area, and East Tyler. When the storm passed by Tyler Pounds Regional Airport a wind gust reached 67 MPH. In Downtown Tyler, the hail missed the area but there was plenty rain.

Tyler Police tell us Rieck Road at Old Bullard is closed due to a power pole in the roadway.  A car hit it before the storm knocking out power to that part of town. No word at this time if power has been restored.

In Cherokee County, the Sheriff's Department tells KLTV 7 a tree fell on an 18-wheeler near FM 2138 off of US Highway 84. There were no injuries reported.
