East Texan Arrested In Cockfighting Raid

An East Texas man is arrested after a Friday night raid at a cockfighting match in the Arklatex. Authorities say it's not the cockfighting that's illegal, but the gambling they say was taking place inside.

Authorities swarmed the Sunrise Game Club Friday night where they say purses sometimes go as high as $50,000. They arrested the alleged ringleader and owner, James Butler. The Martinsville's man now faces charges of money laundering, drug possession and racketeering.

Butler is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  It's illegal for someone under 21 to be present in a place where gambling is taking place.
