An East Texas teen being held in a high security Juvenile Prison is free Sunday. You may remember Shaquandra Cotton, a Paris, Texas teen sentenced to Juvenile Prison for pushing a teacher's aide. Cotton has already served one year of a seven year sentence.
Civil rights activists argued the sentence was racially motivated, saying the same judge that sentenced Cotton, who is black, sentenced a white teenager to probation for arson. Cotton is the first of what could be hundreds of teens released as part of an overhaul of the Texas Youth Commission.
