A true Texas trail ride is going on this weekend to help a man, East Texas has come to call a true humanitarian. KLTV first told you about Army Staff Sergeant Tommy Guinn of Overton in December. Guinn was paralyzed a year ago while helping in the earthquake relief effort in Pakistan. Saturday, an organization called Adopt A soldier Now held a trail ride for Tommy to raise money to build him a handicap accessible home, something Tommy says he's looking forward to.
"I am getting ecstatic," said Tommy Guinn. "I want a house, but you know we've got the land and it still needs to be cleared and everything, but it's getting closer everyday, so I'm hoping to be into it by next year." So far, Adopt A Soldier Now has raised about $12,000 for Tommy's new home. The trail ride continues Sunday and goes on all day. It's located on Tarrant Ranch on County Road 3701 in Bullard. Admission is $25.00.
