Longview Woman Accused Of Hitting Officer With Car

Around 4:30, on Thursday, Longview Police responded to 405 Gilmer Road to assist another agency with a search warrant.  While at the location, Police noticed the suspect getting into her vehicle at the rear of the location in an attempt to leave.

Officers went to the back of the location and Sergeant Seth Vanover ran up to the driver's door and ordered the suspect to stop the vehicle. She refused.  As Sergeant Vanover was walking alongside the vehicle trying to get her to stop, she turned the vehicle into the direction of Sergeant Vanover striking him with the car.

She then fled the location with officers pursing her and after a short chase; she got caught up in heavy traffic and was taken into custody.

Carolyn Lynn White, 45 of Longview, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant (1st Degree Felony) and Evading Arrest or Detention (State Jail Felony).

Sergeant Vanover did not require medical attention.
