An East Texas lawyer is making big headlines after filing a class action suit against Honda. James Holmes of Henderson represented 6 million people in the lawsuit, claiming odometers were made to record mileage faster than what was actually being driven. This affects several all models and it affects a car-owners' resale value, lease value, gas mileage, and warranty.
"It's a big deal, with that many people involved, we thought early on we the case might get some attention, but the thing that has surprised us all is how strongly people have reacted to this notion of an odometer fraud," Holmes says.
Now Honda is extending all warranties and lease contracts and refunding mileage penalties and repairs people weren't supposed to pay for.
