Texas College Celebrates Founders Week

"Founder's Week, a Texas College spring semester tradition is being celebrated all this week.  This years theme is "113 Years of Vision, Perserverance, and Excellence."  A host of events are planned to engage alumni, the student body, staff, and supporters.
  On Tuesday, the College celebrated with an Ecumenical Prayer Breakfast and Memorial Service and a Balloon Release.
  On Wednesday, between 8am and 5pm "Conversations with Living Legends" will allow elder alumni to share wisdom and knowledge with the student body.  Beginning at noon, the Outdoor Historical Marker Dedication of four campus structures will be held, followed by a reception at the Presidents House.
  "Conversations with Living Legends" continues on Thursday.
  On Friday, the 2007 Founders day Convocation will commence at 10:30 a.m. with guest speaker Bishop H.M. Williamson Sr., presiding prelate of the Ninth Episcopal District of the CME Church. Immediately following Convocation, in the courtyard of the campus, the ground-breaking ceremony for the "Buy-A-Brick" commemorative campus beautification fundraiser will be held.  At 2pm the Texas College National Alumni Association will meet, and the 2007 festivities will conclude at the Holiday Inn Select with the 7:30pm "Purple and Gold Banquet" sponsored by the Tyler Alumni Chapter of the Texas College National Alumni Association.
