The city of Longview has a new self promotion plan , and a new logo to go with it. Longview, east Texas pure and simple.. Was the new brand print unveiled today by city and economic leaders. The new logo was unveiled at a luncheon at Pinecrest country club, with dozens of city and civic leaders attending. The brand is a marketing tool used to bring business and tourism to the area. With the planning of a future 76-hundred seat activity and sports arena, city leaders hope to put Longview on the map for future events and commerce. And target those who might retire to Longview.
"We want them to take a real good look at us ok and in some cases that's what's neat about this, retirees may not live in Longview they may shop in Longview come to the doctor in Longview and eat in our restaurants this is really good for all of east Texas" said Longview mayor Jay Dean.
The brand print was conceived after months of market research assessing quality of life, economy and perception of visitors to the city.
