If you have any outstanding warrants, now's the time to pay 'em off. That way officers don't come knocking at your door. Law enforcement agencies around the state are out in full force, arresting anyone with an outstanding warrant. This weekend marked the beginning of the Great Texas Warrant Round-up. That means officers are showing up at people's homes and workplaces, arresting them on the spot.
Officer Will Dietrich, with the City of Longview Warrant Division, says, "I would just like to encourage the citizens if you think you have a warrant, or know you have a warrant, call or come here to the police department during business hours and we'll be more than happy to try to work with you to take care of your business so you don't have to go to jail."
While the sweep is mainly focused on citizens who have class C charges, but higher charge warrants will also be served.
