East Texas Family Awarded 24 Million Dollars

An East Texas family is awarded 24 million dollars for the death of their daughter, after they say her seatbelt failed.   Lauren Frazier, 18, was killed in August 2004 when she was hit by a 16- year-old drunk driver. The parents say she was wearing her seatbelt, but when the cars hit, it unlatched and Frazier was thrown from the SUV.   Jurors agreed Frazier was indeed wearing a defective seatbelt made by Honeywell International.
