UT Health Center has finished its testing and says it has not found any of the peanut butter it looked at to be contaminated. Thursday, the CDC recalled Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter with product codes beginning with 2111. Officials say they believe some of them are contaminated with salmonella.
We collected a box full of jars at KLTV, and had some of them tested at UT Health Centers Microbiology Lab to see if they were contaminated. The negative results, UT Health Center says, does not mean we are safe here in East Texas. Only a few samples were tested. They remind people if they have the above peanut butter to throw it out.
