New Education Campaign Makes A Stop In Tyler

An East Texas school is one out of 10 in the state to be the site of a new education campaign. Caldwell Elementary school in Tyler was picked for the "Raise Your Hand" campaign. This morning, former Lt. Governor Bill Ratliff and former Education Commissioner Mike Moses paid a visit to students and teachers. The campaign is to show you the good things done in public schools throughout Texas.  "We think there are some things we need to do to encourage the legislature to improve the schools, not be punitive, but to hold schools accountable, but to look for ways to give honor to our teachers," said former State Commissioner of Education Dr. Mike Moses. The "Raise Your Hand" organization plans to have another tour in the future.
