Apache Belles Share Skills With East Texas Children

Some East Texas girls got to feel what it was like to be an Apache Belle this afternoon.   TJC'S Apache Belles held their annual one-day dance camp today called Belle Babes. Dozens of girls from around East Texas were paired up with an Apache Belle and learned a dance routine. The girls, ages four to 15, got to perform the routine at TJC's varsity men's basketball game.

"Our ultimate goal is that they come here to fall in love with the Belles and grow up and eventually want to become an Apache Belle themselves," said Apache Belle Alumni Association President Jennifer Taylor. "When I was a little girl I actually came to these workshops and was a Belle Babe and then was an Apache Belle."

The Apache Belles will hold their Belle Babe workshop again in the fall during football season.
