East Texas Women Wear Red

It was a sea of red in Longview Friday afternoon. The American Heart Associations Go Red campaign kicked off with a luncheon at Pine Crest Country Club. KLTV 7's Gillian Sheridan was among the women attending, wearing red to raise awareness about heart disease. A heart disease survivor also delivered a very important message.

"I hope that they can learn that even though you don't have any of the risk factors age, race, smoking you can still have a heart attack," said Marilyn Bianca, heart disease survivor. "You have to pay attention to your body and listen to it and go to the doctor. "   Go Red for women began in February 2004, and has since grown into a national movement.
