East Texas Students Shadow Area Businesses

Several East Texas high school students spend the day in the real world. It's part of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce's Job Shadowing Program.   Friday morning, more than 30 students from eight local schools spent the morning at Trinity Mother Frances. Healthcare leaders from several departments talked to the students about the skills needed to be successful in today's healthcare system.

"I've learned a lot of stuff," said Lindsay Bibby, Lindale High School senior. "We've learned about volunteer services. I kind of want to get into that this time of year just to check it out. I've also learned about doctors and especially degrees, how long it takes to get degrees. I didn't realize for doctors how long it did take to get your medical degree."   This is Mother Frances 10th year participating in the Job Shadowing Program.
