Would Be Store Robber Is Caught By Two Citizens And Clerk

A would-be store robber is arrested after two citizens and the store clerk she allegedly threatened help to hold her down before police arrive. The whole incident was caught on camera Wednesday night.

Marinda Griggs, 28, is charged with aggravated robbery.  Griggs is accused of trying to rob Fast Food on the 800 block of West Houston. Officials say she chased the clerk with a knife throughout the store trying to get him to open the register.

On store surveillance, the clerk is seen leaving the store to get away from Marinda. Marinda then tries to get the register to open by using a knife. After trying the right side, then the left, she takes the register off the counter. Off camera, it seems like she's slamming the machine against the flood to try to get it to open.

Finally, she gives up and takes two cartons of cigarettes. As Griggs tries to leave the store, the store clerk and a UPS driver grab Griggs. A third citizen blocks the front door with his vehicle so Griggs cannot escape.
