Gift Of Love: Robie

About two and a half years ago, we brought you the story of a young boy in need of a permanent home.

His name is Robie. He's been in foster care a majority of his life. Unfortunately he's still waiting. We just caught up with robie again. He's now a little older, and his desire for a family is greater.

When we first introduced you to Robie, He was 6 and a little shy.

Now 8 years old, robie is a little more outgoing.

Robie enjoys the outdoors, and was thrilled with his afternoon at Brookshire's "World of Wildlife Museum" in Tyler.

This young boy also likes sports, video games and playing with is dog.

About his dog, Robie says, "He always licks me on the leg. Sometimes he licks me on the check."

Robie has been in foster care since he was just 3 years old... He's now been waiting 5 years to find a forever family.

Tammy Stidham of CPS told us, "He's a wonderful child and he's going to make a parent very happy. Robie has done a tremendous job in the last 4 or 5 years i have worked with him."

Robie's teachers are also taking notice of his progress.

"His teach brags on him and talks about how well he's doing in math," says Stidham.

Robie has a lot of potential and is already thinking about what he wants to be when he grows up, a fireman.

Robie told us, "God always helps you. When you can't see like in the smoke, God helps you. God helps me, that's why i want to be a fireman."

It's important for robie to have structure in life. He will also need to continue speech therapy and he would like siblings, but most of all, Robie wants to feel safe and wanted.
