Tree Falls On Historic Church

East Texans are working to clean up the remnants of Monday's winter blast. A fallen tree in the small town of Montalba splits a piece of history in two. The ice was too much for an oak tree as it comes down on Holly Springs Church. The primitive baptist church was established in 1860. George Pinkerton has been going to Holly Springs all his life and says they were trying to get a historical marker for the church.

"It's just a lot of memories," said George Pinkerton, member.  "My grandparents, my parents all went here and just a lot of people that's gone on before us that I still have memories of. "   The church says its insurance company will not pay for the damages. Members of Holly Springs Church say they will meet tonight to discuss what needs to be done to rebuild the church.
