We celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday this week.
No matter how you choose, or not to acknowledge the impact Dr. King had on our nation I challenge you to dispute what I believe to be his strongest argument....that we judge people on the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Application of this principle boils down to individual responsibility. The responsibility to abandon stereotypes and recognize the difficult struggle this country has gone through to get where it is today.
But also the responsibility to completely disregard the radicals who tear the rest of us apart. Our nation continues to be attacked both literally and physically from all corners of the globe. Despite this I know most of you feel like I do....we still live in the greatest country in the world.
Just by changing ourselves we can make this a better east texas and a stronger country.
