An East Texas family is without a home after fire destroys everything inside. The fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. last night at a home on FM 2767 in Smith County, just East of 757. This morning, the homeowners searched the house trying to find anything worth saving. They say fortunately, no one was at home when the fire started including their 15 year old daughter. Now they say they are left trying to figure out what to do.
"Have to try to start somewhere," said homeowner Candy Brooks. "Really, right now I can't say," said Candy's husband, Anthony Brooks. "I mean I don't know. This is what I got, what is on my back. "
The cause of the fire is still unknown. If you would like to help the Brooks family you can do so by contacting the Smith County American Red Cross.
