Tyler Police were called to the Boots and Saddles night club located at 218 E. Locust Street about 12:10 a.m. Friday, to assist Smith County Deputies with a disturbance at the club. While officers were outside the club several gun shots were fired causing officers to take cover. A witness told officers that he observed an unknown male fire a rifle into the air several times near a vehicle in a parking lot across from the night club. Officers and deputies attempted to stop the suspect vehicle that was leaving the scene. The suspect jumped into a 2000 red, 4-door, Cadillac and left the scene at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the suspect vehicle into North Tyler and terminated the pursuit due to losing sight of the vehicle. Officers located four spent rifle casings in the area of where the shots were fired. Investigators will be following up on information received from witnesses and officers accounts of incident.
