Dog Catches A Ride On A Bus Without Owner

A daring pooch in Oregon hops on a Portland bus and ends up far away from home. "Buster" the bus riding dog was found by the driver, but nobody knows where the canine came from or who owns it.

It's been a long couple days for Buster.  According to tri-met his story starts at a bus stop near 168th and Sandy.

6 month old Buster decided it was time to be a big boy and jumped onto the number 12 bus.

He arrived in Gresham. "when the bus driver got to the end of his route he was still on there."

Police were called and little Buster was escorted to doggy orphanage. Multnomah county animal services in Troutdale was ready with a gourmet dinner of doggie treats to meet his every desire as staff worked to arrange his return ticket home.

Buster is a short-haired young mixed-breed pit bull mix, predominately light-brown in color with white markings on his chest and nose. He is friendly to strangers and likes chew toys.

He is now in the custody of Multnomah County Animal Services. Please contact MCAS at (503) 988-7387 if you have information about Buster. Do not contact OHS. Although OHS finds homes for thousands of homeless dogs each year, stray dogs brought to OHS are transferred to MCAS or the appropriate animal control agency, as required by law.
