Second Search For Missing Longview Woman

A second county-wide search was held today to find a woman who disappeared in Gregg County this past summer.  Brandi Wells, 23, was last seen on August 2nd at Graham's Central Station on McCann Rd.

They searched remote wooded areas along long stretches of railroad, from abandoned homes to empty water wells, looking for some sign of what happened to Wells.

"My daughter was a human being and she deserves dignity and respect and if anybody knows anything out there, we just need to know something.  I want to bring my baby home," said Brandi's mother Mary Ellen Tant.

More than 50 volunteers from all over the state joined in the search, including Brandi's brother, U.S. Army Sgt. Christopher Wells,  who just got home from two tours in Iraq.  "My family was going through a rough time with the disappearance and I really felt like I needed to be back here.  I want to know who's responsible," said Christopher.

They continue to search because they believe that's what Brandi would have wanted.  "This is the only Christmas present that the family could give to Brandi this year.  So, we're trying to do our best to include her in our Christmas thoughts and our Christmas spirit," said Brandi's aunt , Alli Cormier.

But they take some solace seeing so many people helping in the search.  "It's great to see people we don't even know coming out to look.  That means a lot to me and my family," said Christopher.

Brandi's family is desperate for some clues to what happened.  "We just want some closure and we need to bring Brandi home one way or another," said Cormier.

More than 100 volunteers joined in a search held back in September where no clues were found. Nothing was found today. The family plans on organizing more searches in the future.
