Former Jacksonville Pastor Set To Plea Guilty To Child Porn Charges

A former East Texas pastor, indicted on two counts of child porn, is set to plea guilty to one of the charges.   Joshua Allen, 23, of Jacksonville, is accused of possession and distribution of child pornography.

Allen worked at Tyler Street Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He is accused of having computer files containing images, which involved the use of a person under the age of 18, engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Investigators say they confiscated more than 2,000 pictures from his laptops.

KLTV 7 News spoke with Allen's lawyer this afternoon. John Heath, Jr. told us he filed papers in federal court for a plea agreement. He says if the judge accepts the plea, his client would not go to trial. He says a probation board would recommend Allen's sentence and it's up to the judge to accept that recommendation.
