Former East Texas Police Officer Sentenced For Tampering With Evidence

Former Troup police officer Samuel Mark Turner is sentenced to three years in prison for tampering with evidence.   Turner, 47 plead guilty in May to the third degree felony. Along with a 3 year sentence, Turner has to pay a $5,000.   Former Troup police Chief Chester Kennedy was found guilty last month on one count of theft and one count of tampering with physical evidence. Turner testified against Kennedy during the trial.
