For the past 60 years, The Lindale Candy Company has been sweetening lives in East Texas. Founded by Jim Witherow in 1946, the company is now owned by Caleb Middleton, who worked there as a teenager.
The Lindale Candy Store is filled from top to bottom with peanut patties, 16 flavors of fudge, seven flavors of brittles, and the company's trademark peppermint candy in sticks, canes, suckers and baskets.
The candy kitchen is a whirlwind of peppermint candy making this time of year. The candy is made just the same way it's been made for more than half a century. Lindale Candy is one of only four companies in the country still making peppermint candy the old fashioned way. It's a way of spelling sweet success for both owners and consumers.
