Convenience Store Robbery Caught On Tape

An East Texas convenience store is robbed at gun point and it's all caught on tape. It happened Sunday night at CJ's convenience store, located in the 600 block of East Rusk Street in Jacksonville.  Wednesday, KLTV spoke with the detective in charge of the case and the suspects still at large.

"On Sunday, November 26th at approximately 7:45 PM Damesha Dansler entered the CJ's convenient store.  She entered the store approximately 3 times in 20 minutes. When she would exist the store, she was observed in the company of 2 black males," says Detective Jason Price, Jacksonville Police Department.

Detective Price walks us through the surveillance video.

"As she existed the store for the third time, she met the 2 other males that she had been standing with outside. She met them as they entered the store armed with a gun and displayed the firearm at the clerk. Pointing it at her and said they wanted the money. The clerk kept her head and walked to the register and calmly opened the register at the gunmen's request," says Detective Price.

As the clerk opens the register, one of the men steals money from two charity boxes located next to the register. The two charities were for The Children's Christmas Tree and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We're not sure how much, in all, these robbers were able to get away with.  Detective Price says the clerk did a great job of staying calm with a gun pointed at her.

"It could have been the difference of her being seriously injured and her getting to walk home at the end of the night," says Detective Price.

The surveillance video has already helped police arrest of 17 year old Damesha Dansler.  But, Jacksonville police need your help in identifying these two men. Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to additional arrests in this case.
