Miracle Child Named For Tyler's Christmas Tree Lighting

His life is a shining example, and he's going to let that light shine by flipping a switch.

Eleven-year old Chase Duncan has been named as the 2007 Miracle Child. That means he will light up Tyler's Christmas tree after the parade later this week. The announcement was made this morning. Chase had to be in school, so he was not there in person for the announcement; but, he was represented by the medical team that got to know him during his stay there.

Dr. Louis Fernandez, Chief of trauma of Mother Frances Hospital said, "He's a great little guy. He has a great outlook on life, very positive. That reflects on his parents. They're wonderful people. He's going to go out and do some great things, I think."

Chase was picked, after he made a miraculous recovery. The 11 year old was riding his bike, when a motorcycle hit him. He suffered from life threatening injuries, but surgeons at Mother Frances Hospital were able to save him.
