Inappropriate Teacher/Student Relationship Being Tried Again In Court
Donald Dudley was convicted the first time back in June for sexual assault of a child.
The student involved was 15-years-old at the time.
Dudley is being tried for the same charge involving the same victim. This time it's for an alleged sexual encounter that happened on a different date.
The defense chose not to give an opening statement, so jurors heard opening arguments only from the prosecution.
"500 plus text messages from the defendant, the teacher... to the victim: student. 500," says Richard Vance for the prosecution. "And you'll see the content of those some of them being sent very early in the morning at 4:30 a.m., 5:00 a.m. And some in the nature stating such things as 'missing you.'"
The alleged victim is now 17-years-old and took the stand for the prosecution.
