Former Police Chief Found Guilty And Not Guilty

A former East Texas police chief has been found guilty and not guilty of the charges he was facing.

Chester Kennedy headed up the Troup Police Department for 14 years. Today, he was found guilty on one count of theft, guilty on one of three counts of tampering with physical evidence and not guilty on the other two. He was also found not guilty of tampering with a government record.

His sentencing date is set for December 18th.

Mark Turner, one of his fellow officers, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence in May. He testified against Kennedy in this case.
