Former Band Director Sentenced For Exposing Himself To Student

A former East Texas high school band director who exposed himself to a young boy was sentenced to eight years in prison.  Monty Staton, 43, worked at Cross Roads I.S.D. in Henderson County for six years. He pleaded guilty to "indecency with a child" in February and was sentenced by a Smith County judge.  

The victim was a 13-year-old boy.  Staton resigned in December of 2004, the same month detectives in Smith County launched an investigation.
