It was a sight no football fan wants to witness. A player carried off the field on a stretcher.

Saturday night, East Texas held it's breath as one of it's own was carried away.

Oklahoma receiver and former Gilmer Buckeye Manuel Johnson was placed on a stretcher and taken off  the field after a tackle.

Manuel was said to have lost feeling throughout his body after the hit. The Dallas Morning News reports Manuel was kept at a Norman, Oklahoma hospital overnight.

Sooners Coach Bob Stoops was quoted as sayind no damage showed up on the x-rays and that feeling in Manuel's body had come back and everything should be fine.
