Prostitution Sting Rounds Up 12 Men

Longview Police say they conducted a "reverse" prostitution sting on Tuesday night, arresting 12 men for "Prostitution". Arrest warrants are out for six other men .

Police say the men approached an undercover female officer for sex and then met her at a nearby hotel where they were arrested. The sting was done along East Marshall Avenue, an area, police say, prostitutes generally target.

Sergeant Shaun Pendleton with the Longview Police Department, says, "we're happy that we got as many as we did because like I said we have a major problem out in that area with prostitution."

Christy Miller, who works at the Majestic Inn, a nearby hotel says, "we have quite a few that come into the parking lot, on the premises, solicit people, ask for money, cigarettes, they knock on doors.

This is the fifth prostitution sting done by the Longview Police Department in the East Marshall area, since March of this year.
