Burglars Steal A Safe From Gas Station

It was a brazen move for some burglars in East Texas. The thieves walked right out the door with a gas station's safe, all in a matter of minutes. Sheriff's deputies say it happened around 12:30am Tuesday morning at the "Kidd Jones" convenient store off of FM 1252 and State Highway 42 in Gregg county.

Investigators say a black SUV pulled up with the four thieves inside. Two men broke into the store, and walked behind the counter, prying out the safe. They then walk out the door with it in their hands and throw into the back of their SUV.

Captain Ken Hartley with the Gregg County Sheriff's Office says, "According to the surveillance camera, they were in the building and back out in just a couple of minutes so it was very quick. It seems likely to believe the way that they had pulled this off so quickly this may not have been the first time they've done that."

Investigators are asking for your help in identifying the two thieves or their vehicle. If you have any information, contact the Gregg County Sheriff's Office.
