Suspects Caught In Mount Vernon Murder

A third arrest today in connection with the murder of a bed and breakfast owner in Mount Vernon. On Wednesday, Franklin county sheriff's deputies found 56 year old Robert Whiteside shot dead   inside the Veranda Bed and Breakfast he owned near Mount Vernon. Whiteside's truck was missing and investigators believe robbery was the motive. That truck was found in Dallas yesterday.

Police say two men drove it there, Mark Aaron Rains of Mount Vernon, and "Narada Jaha Newman" of Dallas. They were also in possession of Whiteside's wallet. Around five hours ago a third person was arrested in this case. His identity has not yet been released.

"With a passion he had for life and everything he did, from his cooking to his music to his friends, he was a wonderful person loved by everyone" said Whiteside's longtime friend Gay Snider.

"Well of course everyone is shocked this is a small county a small community and very close knit, and you want to think that you're safe unfortunately bad people do bad things , so it's been quite a shock not a usual occurrence for our county" said Franklin County Sheriff Chuck White.

All three suspects are back in the Franklin county jail. If convicted on capitol murder charges, they could face life in prison or the death penalty.
