Tyler Neighborhood Takes Part In Prayer March

A Tyler community marched together this morning in prayer, to take back their neighborhood.   In the past year, neighborhoods in southwest Tyler have seen an increase in shootings and drug- related crime.

District Two City Councilman, Donald Sanders said he got together with local pastors and decided it was time to seek God's intervention to clean up the neighborhood. "We are hoping these individuals that are committing these acts of violence and crime will change their life, their heart with God's intervention," said Sanders.   "He's the only one that can do that."

"We are here to let these people know we are fighting against crimes. We are walking for peace. We want everybody to come out," said neighborhood resident Josephine Hayden.

Councilman Sanders says he will hold as many prayer walks as he needs to and hopes next time the entire city will come out in support.
